cross platform gaming

Cross Platform Gaming Homework   Cross platform gaming means that a video game  has the ability to  allow players to play a game like Minecraft simultaneously on different gaming hardware.   The "Better Together" update is so exciting for the gaming world because it takes different versions of Minecraft that have been available on PC, Xbox, iOS, and Android, and consolidates them into one master version, with same features, functionality and content matter where you play. This update allows players from the listed platforms to play together without any restrictions.   There might be concerns over online child protection because there are some content in games that are inappropriate for children for example Call of Duty and Battlefield. These games portray murder, blood and guns in them and parents will not allow their children to mimic the actions they see for them to get into trouble. For example,  Fortnite  has murder in it and PlayStatio

emlie Sande question (500)

With reference to Emeli Sande’s “Heaven”, how realistic are the representations offered by the video? In your answer, you should consider the social and cultural context. Emeli Sande's music video "heaven" is quite realistic as it is based in Bethnal Green as its setting,in the video you can see people going about their day to day life which links to the representation of street life, gender, ethnicity and spirituality. To me Emeli's lyrics are about acceptance , hope and forgiveness which is heavily connoted in the music video and the images presented within it. Emeli's representation of of spirituality/religion is is very realistic , this is due to people genuinely relying on religion for guidance. As i mentioned before her lyrics convey hope, forgiveness and acceptance, religion can provide these things for many people. The mid shot of Emile and the clear blue sky connotes acceptance and to me represents a place like heaven, linking to the song title. it conno

Find evidence of representations of: *Class *Gender *Religion *Street life and urban culture *Ethnicity *The artist Use screenshots to illustrate. Use examples of camera, editing, mise en scene, sound, Task: Class -Heaven presents multiple classes and is not discriminatory, i think Heaven is portraying that everyone struggles and finds it hard to keep on the right path and maintain a 'clean heart'.Social circumstances can make people feel disheartened but that of god gives people hope, represented in religious imagery throughout the song. Further, images of children are portrayed througho ut and for most people their children mean the world to them are are their strength and beacon of hope. Gender-Again a number of genders are represented here in the song heaven , both men and women struggle. Religion-is portrayed quite a lot, eg mary , the cross , the clear blue sky is a representation of heaven and how it is not cloudy with no judgement. Religiou

Judith Butler : a feminist theorist who says gender is a social construct. we get our sense of masculinity and femininity from society. cultural conditioning /society performitivity-  Gender  often means adhering to  gender  normative behavior and roles. The performance of  gender  reinforces the essentialism of  gender  categories. ...  Gender performance consists of a stylized practice involving gestures, language, and speech and serves to form and build an identity.   Post-modernism : is a movement from the mid 20th century.  Baudrillard- postmodern society is organised around simulation -the play of images/signs style over content  you don't need to have a meaning for a media product to have value  simulacra- says simulation/version of reality which is replaced any 'pure' reality hyper-real- any boundary between the real and imaginary disappears  parody-remake for humour pastiche-imitation as tribute

textual analysis : Old spices print advert ridicules other scent adverts by using intertextuality because they promise certain things for example you'll get the girl you want wearing this aftershave or present fake facts. The ridicule is presented in the quotation on the side of Isaiah Mustafa 'this fact has bot been fact checked' , it's a self referential post modern advert. Furthermore, old spice wants to connote the scent in the bottle is mind blowing so they present the Bahamas and show a volcano on top of Isaiah to show that it is mind blowing. To do this old spice makes the advert eye capturing , one by using a really good looking model and  two buy creating the image of the Bahamas on Isaiah using vibrant colours that tye into the bottle colour scheme , red , white , blue and green.
